This year there will be a Gordon Research Conference and Seminar on Drug Safety. The Student and postdoc component is July 25-26. This is a great opportunity for mentorship and career development. The meeting will be at Stonehill College just outside of Boston. Peter Loskill and Katie White will lead a discussion on pharmacogenomics and patient tailored safety. As part of this they are looking for 2 more students (pre-docs late in the PhD probably preferred) to present a 15 minute talk on research directly related to this topic of pharmacogenomics and patient tailored safety. The cost of registration for the seminar and the main conference (see link) will be covered as will be housing. There would be a travel stipend to cover most if not all of flights. The second area where one pre-doc (or post-doc) speaker may be recruited is Computational drug Safety: from In Silico prediction of drug safety to big data in clinical trials if you know of anyone who would be a good fit for this.
